C.J. Chueca was born in Lima, Peru and raised in both Perú and Mexico. She studied photography at the Instituto Antonio Gaudí and Fine Arts at Universidad Católica in Lima. She moved to NYC in 2003 and is now based out of Brooklyn. Chueca has participated in solo and group shows in New York, Istanbul, Lima and Madrid. Solo exhibitions: Somos la noche y el día, Vigil Gonzales galería, Lima (2019); I am the river behind the wall, Mulherin Gallery, Toronto (2018); Dos cielos azules, ICPNA, Lima (2018); Illuminations of Angie: Someone there is that doesn’t love a wall, Y Gallery, New York (2016).
